Dad's Are Good For...

riding four-wheelers with you,

taking you to feed the fish,

coloring Easter eggs with you,
going hiking,

celebrating birthdays,

taking you to Father's and Sons,

going camping,

mowing the lawn,
lighting off fireworks,

and hangin' out,

but mostly dad's are for just being there, and for loving you, and for providing for you,
and for teaching you, and for raising you.
Thanks for being such a wonderful dad!!!! We love you!

Love this boy!
This little boy makes me smile and laugh every single day. I love him sooo much! Now, that's not to say that he doesn't drive me crazy every day as well, especially with his penchant for dumping out boxes of cereal and packages of crackers in the family room and peeing on the stairs (hasn't happened for a few days) lately. But he is so much fun to have in our family. He is so full of life and personality. He loves to sing and perform tricks and dances and do anything he can to get a laugh out of people. I hope he will carry this trait throughout his life. He loves to share and have fun and play with his brothers and sister; He loves everyone and everyone loves him. Happy Birthday Little Rexy Poo our lives wouldn't be the same without you!

***!*!Warning!*!***Do Not Read This Post If You Have a Weak Stomach

I warned you!

If you can't handle a little gore then scroll

down really fast so you skip this post.

On Friday night Gracie spent the night at her friend's house and on Saturday morning they were going outside to the backyard and she slammed the door on her finger.

Honestly, she didn't cry the entire time, she may have cried just a little right when it happened but I wasn't there so I'm not sure. The Dr. told us later that he had another smashed finger, not even half as bad as hers, on an older boy later that day and he was crying up a storm. The Dr. didn't have the heart to tell him he just had a seven year old girl in there who didn't even cry a bit.

The fingernail was only attached at the very top and was just barely hanging on. I thought they would just remove it but the Dr. said it is better to save it because it preserves the nail bed and heals better that way. So he put two stitches in it to hold it on. It will eventually fall off when the new nail begins to grow.

She was really digging all the attention that she was getting from the whole thing. Special visitors, everyone noticing her huge bandaged finger, well wishers. So this has really turned into one of those "cool" things that happens to kids and now she'll have a great battle scar story to tell. She gets the stitches out on Saturday.

Another one bites the dust (plus don't miss all the other new posts, I had some catching up to do)

Just look at these two nine short months ago...

and just look at them today! My, my how they've grown...
Matthew now has longer hair and braces
and Katie G now has shorter hair and front teeth!

Can I just say how much they've changed in such a short time? My jaw dropped when I pulled up the picture from the first day of school! (And apparently Matthew's shirt got a little wet whilst brushing his teeth this morning, in case you were wondering.)

And here we have my little yahoodilleedoodillies (as I like to call them) 9 months ago (above) what little cuties! And today (below). Oh, to be a kid again and get such pure joy out of drinking from the hose! Ok, I'm not gonna lie, I still like to drink from the hose. It brings back all those great memories of being a kid and drinking from the hose!

Colby at 9 months

Watch out for these two, they are Trouble!

This is how he greets me when I go to get him out of bed.

He is a scrounger and a scavenger on the lookout for anything and everything to put into his mouth. Including but not limited to: markers, paper, the toilet bowl brush,
cat food, legos, scraps of food under the table, etc.
He does not discriminate.

He and Rex are in cahoots to make the biggest mess possible, they thought this one was really funny. And he loved those salty potato chips, he was sucking on them as fast as his little fists could shove them into his cheeks.

But apparently it wasn't very funny when Mom got involved.
(And he still doesn't have any teeth?!?)
